Warrah, Syndey

Warrah, Sydney, Australia

Over a period of 6 months, 17 bathrooms have been upgraded by Multiplex and their subcontractors at no cost to Warrah. This has brought about a transformation in the comfort and amenity of each of the 7 group homes housing people with significant disabilities.  The benefits are being enjoyed daily, not only by more then 30 residents, but also 36+ frontline support staff who assist each of the residents in their everyday lives.

Warrah was formed in 1965 by Karl and Hannelor Kaltenbach when they worked with a small group of teenagers, with intellectual disabilities, to clear land in Dural for an organic vegetable garden. It has since grown to a charity that employs 140 staff and supports a community of over 100 families and extended families through a range of services based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher and social reformer.

In addition to the group homes, Warrah provides Day Services, a Special School for children aged 5 to 18 years and a Biodynamic Farm and Shop.
