Martin Wilshire is Health and Safety Director at Multiplex, a global construction company headquartered in the City of London. He has over 22 years’ experience in the construction industry and is a member of both the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), and the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators.

Martin spent 10 years in the Royal Air Force Police before moving into contracts management in 1999 for a fire protection and insulation subcontractor. After five years he became a full-time health and safety professional and took a resident role at the Wembley Stadium project working alongside Multiplex as a consultant supporting the engineering subcontractor Hollandia. Martin moved to John Sisk & Son Limited in 2007, where he spent a further eight years as a business unit Health and Safety Manager overseeing new build commercial, residential, refurbishment and high-end fit-out projects in London and the Southeast.

Martin joined Multiplex in 2015 as a project-based health and safety lead, and went on to oversee the safe delivery of the 62-storey 22 Bishopsgate project before being promoted to his current role in 2019. As Health and Safety Director, Martin is responsible for developing and implementing Multiplex’s health and safety strategy across all Multiplex offices and project sites in the United Kingdom.
