Designed by Multiplex women, our range of Jump Start programs encourage women into construction using our projects as vehicles to educate and inspire.

Beginning as a grass roots initiative at a project in North Sydney in 2018, Jump Start now forms an important part of our national diversity and inclusion commitment, with a focus on widening the pool of female talent for our entire industry.

Who is it for?
We have tailored Jump Start programs for women of different ages and interests.

For high school students, Jump Start offers a chance to join a Multiplex delivery team in a range of Site walks, mentoring sessions, interactive workshops, panel discussions and more.

Our aim is to show students what it’s really like to work in construction and the diverse range of rewarding careers on offer – from project management to trades.

For younger children, Jump Start introduces children, their families, and teachers to the world of construction through play and immersion. We want to inspire an early interest in how buildings are built and create female role models for the formative years.

To date, more than 400 students have participated in our Jump Start programs around Australia.

“As school students we weren’t given an opportunity to learn about different career options within the built environment. We wanted to give female students a different experience.

It’s so rewarding to see the program grow and expand, and help participants go on to pursue career paths feeling informed and inspired.” Timnit Tessema, Multiplex Project Engineer & Co-Founder of Jump Start.
