A light-soaked chameleon in western Dubai

Al Manara, meaning The Beacon, is a community housing many high quality villas and town houses, located in western Dubai. The Al Manara Building is a low-rise commercial building constructed by Multiplex, and includes a ground floor with retail, plus one storey of office space and a basement carpark.

Internationally-acclaimed retail and gourmet food chain, jones the grocer, occupies the ground floor, while the corporate head office of Multiplex Middle East & Asia occupies the first floor offices.

The stand-out perforated copper cladding, projected off the facade, gracefully changes colour with time making it a one-of-a-kind architectural feature in the UAE.

Natural lighting has been enhanced with the use of new generation glass, which allows high levels of light into the building while at the same time removing glare and heat.

A roof top area provides for the MEP Building Services (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), LPG Gas Tanks and a green roof as per Dubai Municipality regulations.

Al Manara is one of the first buildings in the UAE built to the tenants’ requirements, and it was also the first integrated project for Multiplex Middle East & Asia who project-managed and constructed this development and now provides long-term facilities management services.

The project was shortlisted at the prestigious Middle East Architect Awards for Commercial Project of the Year, and Overall Project of the Year.
