Multiplex Appointed to Deliver Mosman High School Upgrade

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Premier global construction company Multiplex has won a competitive tender to deliver a major upgrade to Mosman High School on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. 

The appointment follows 12 months of Early Contractor Involvement engagement by School Infrastructure NSW to plan and design the upgrade, which is funded as a part of the NSW Government’s four-year $8.6 billion investment to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools in NSW.

Designed by high-profile architects Woods Bagot, the upgrade will deliver 16 additional flexible learning spaces, and a new multi-purpose hall/gym, library, administration/staff area, and canteen. The project also includes innovative new outdoor spaces including a rooftop sports multi-court. 

Multiplex Regional Managing Director for NSW David Ghannoum said “Multiplex is thrilled to be the contractor on this important project for the NSW Department of Education and the Mosman community”.

As part of delivering the project, Multiplex has implemented its Jump Start program to give female students a first-hand look at what a career in construction has to offer.

“Our national Jump Start program is a very grassroots way for us to encourage more women to consider a career in construction, by showing them the diversity of roles on offer and breaking down some of the myths about our industry,” said Mr Ghannoum.

“It was started by a group of Multiplex women and it’s wonderful to see the positive effect it has had on many hundreds of young women at a pivotal time of making career decisions.”

Mosman High School remains fully operational while the upgrade project takes place. The project, due to be completed in mid-2023, has created approximately 150 jobs.
