Premier global construction company Multiplex has completed the fit-out of Woodside's new state-of-the-art headquarters, Mia Yellagonga, located at the Capital Square precinct in Perth's CBD.

Multiplex has worked closely with Woodside since its appointment in June 2017 to create a campus-style workspace that fosters innovation and encourages collaboration.

The 32-story building on Mount Street comprises a 400-seat auditorium, open floor plans with internal stairs, connected technology, wellness facilities and a four-story office on Mounts Bay Road.

Multiplex WA Regional Managing Director Chris Palandri said he was proud to deliver on Woodside's vision for Mia Yellagonga and create a workspace that positively impacts the well-being of employees.

"We were delighted to partner with Woodside and create an environment that prioritises the needs of employees, from connected technology, flexible meeting spaces and extensive wellness facilities," Mr Palandri said. "The fit-out provides an optimal workplace that enables employees to thrive and has set a new standard for office facilities in Australia."

Prior to completing the fit-out, Multiplex also constructed the base build of Capital Square Tower One for developer AAIG, which has entered into a lease agreement with Woodside.

The base build of the tower, now named Karlak, has received a 6 Star Green Star Office Design & As Built rating from the Green Building Council Australia, the first high-rise tower to achieve this in Western Australia.

Mr Palandri said Multiplex ensured every subcontractor, supplier and consultant involved in the project incorporated sustainability measures into their scope of work.

"Sustainability was embedded in the entire design and procurement process, with Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) a key consideration in all material selection. From steel to PVC, every material was reviewed to make sure we were using the most sustainable version of the product available. And on completion, more than 80% of waste generated by the project has been recycled."

Between the base build and fit-out, close to 4,000 people working over two million-man hours have helped bring the campus-style precinct to life.

Multiplex has proven experience delivering premium commercial fit-outs, including the award-winning BHP head office fit-out at Brookfield Place Tower 1, and the Telethon Kids Institute fit-out at the new Perth Children's Hospital.
