Multiplex completes M&L Hospitality's new boutique hotel in Sydney

The boutique hotel at 65 Sussex Street in the Sydney CBD is located moments away from King Street Wharf and the new Barangaroo waterfront precinct.

Designed by architects Fitzpatrick + Partners with interiors by Wood Bagot, it comprises 182 guest rooms including four spacious suites, a restaurant and bar, open air garden atrium, fully equipped gym and private meeting/dining room.

This upscale hotel will be a great contribution to the revitalisation of the Western Corridor in Sydney's CBD.

West Hotel features a striking botanical theme throughout with a dramatic three-storey internal garden atrium courtyard, white waratah flower motif in the lobby and floral-inspired carpet design in the guest rooms.

A signature feature of the hotel is its distinctive geometric facade with 333 individual panels of glass used for its construction, the first of its kind in Australia.

Construction commenced in October, 2016 and was completed in less than 13 months.

"We were able to deliver the hotel ahead of schedule through a high degree of planning and a focus on prefabrication and modular construction where possible. This has enabled Hilton to begin trading for Christmas," said Mr Ghannoum.

In December, 2016 Multiplex completed the redevelopment of M&L Hospitality’s 161 Sussex Street property at Darling Harbour with the hotel opening as Hyatt Regency, representing the iconic hotel brand’s return to the Sydney market.

The 161 Sussex Street redevelopment project saw the refurbishment of the existing hotel; the construction of a new 3,667 square metre convention centre; and a 25-level tower including 13 new hotel levels and 10 levels of A-grade high rise commercial office space which has attracted corporate firms and tech companies including global music streaming business, Spotify.
