Following an earlier announcement in June this year that leading residential developer Northacre has selected Multiplex to deliver The Broadway development in Westminster, the official contract signing was carried out in November.

Following a successful nine-month single-stage competitive tender process for the £422m design and build contract, Multiplex will now deliver the 1.72 acre mixed-use development on the site of the former Metropolitan Police headquarters. Once completed, The Broadway will comprise 268 apartments across six towers, 142,000 sq ft of commercial and retail accommodation, public realm and a new thoroughfare linking Victoria Street with St James's Park tube station.

David Harman, Development Director at Northacre said: "The contract signing marks an important milestone for the delivery of The Broadway, which will provide a new world-class, vibrant scheme for this key part of Westminster."

Ian Pratt, Project Director at Multiplex said: "We are very pleased to secure this contract and look forward to working alongside Northacre to help realise their vision of making The Broadway the newest landmark destination for design, fashion and high-quality living."

Multiplex is due to take possession of the site in February 2019 and the project is due to be completed in December 2021.
