A high quality commercial office tower for the Sydney CBD

Completed in just 12 months, the building represents the final development on the World Square site. The design of the lobby, located on Level 12, considers the existing structures and the retail and plant spaces. It visually and physically connects the street to the base of the atrium, which is three levels above, via escalators, to create a dynamic and layered entry experience.

The atrium rises through the core of the building and terminates with a glass roof that provides natural light and weather protection.

The larger-than-typical floorplates average 2500 m2 that benefit greatly from the extensive use of glazing.

The 5 Star NABERS Energy rated building design integrates environmentally sustainable principles together with an innovative approach to health workplace initiatives.

The curtain wall facade features subtle glazing treatments and a striking colour palette. It is designed to respond to the varied urban conditions, existing site typology and internal organisation. While establishing a strong identity for the building the facade also complements and extends the approach seen across the entire World Square site. Innovative construction solutions were employed to enable construction to be undertaken within an operating precinct above a fully functioning retail centre and carpark. Despite these challenges, Multiplex was successful in delivering the project, as well as the subsequent office fit-out for the Government to meet their lease commencement requirements.
