A carbon conscious development
The 65 Davies Street Development in London’s West End features a speculative 65,000 sq ft of commercial space, designed by PLP Architecture and located in a prominent position above Crossrail Ltd’s Bond Street Station western ticket hall.
Multiplex’s appointment is Grosvenor's first major contract award to take into account bidders’ commitment to science based targets for carbon reduction.
65 Davies Street provides a high quality office space which is acoustically isolated from the new Elizabeth Line station below. The architecture has been meticulously designed to merge with the surrounding area, featuring a Public Art installation on the Western façade, and a green trellis installation on the South façade. Embodied Carbon is measured by our 3D model, and the "Zero Emissions" initiative we engage with, alongside the key members of our supply chain, makes 65 Davies Street a carbon conscious development.
The site is located ‘one-street-back’ from Oxford Street, between Davies Street and Gilbert Street, on the outer edge of London’s Mayfair. Owing to its prestigious setting 65 Davies St looks to anchor itself as one of the most luxurious and high-end office spaces in London. The building is 7 storeys tall, with 6 floors of office. The façade sets back at Level 5 and 6, offering terrace space to the incoming tenants whilst softening the building massing from the street. The building is crowned with a copper, standing seam roof which will enclose the building plant.
Significant attention to detail has been placed on the complex façade which seeks to respond to the neighbouring, historic buildings. A material palette of Terracotta, Stone and Bronze is fenestrated with large glazed units. The structure of the building is required to be acoustically isolated from the Crossrail station box which introduces elastomeric bearings at all Crossrail interfaces.
Project completion is due September 2023.
