Charles Perkins Centre, Sydney
Leading global contractor Multiplex has delivered a $385 million research and education hub at the University of Sydney’s Camperdown Campus. The hub will be the heart of the University’s Charles Perkins Centre, an initiative that aims to ease the burden of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and related conditions by translating the work of the University of Sydney into real-world solutions.
The new 46,700 square metre building was delivered three months ahead of schedule and in time for the 2014 academic year.
“This building is a major investment by the University and will boost its ability to carry out collaborative research and studies of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In delivering the University’s vision, we are delighted to have created a space that will benefit staff and students both socially and academically, and have a positive knock-on effect for the entire community” said David Ghannoum, Regional Managing Director NSW.
