Transforming the University's student life with innovative teaching and learning spaces for students
Murdoch University's New Academic Building (NAB) will be one of the first and largest mass engineered timber projects in Western Australia.
The NAB sets a leadership benchmark for sustainability, featuring a large roof that acts as a renewable energy generator with a mass array of photo voltaic cells and naturally ventilated mixed mode spaces for students to minimize energy usage.
The sustainable timber structure is targeting a 6 star Green Star rating with its innovative, mass engineered timber frame construction, embedded renewable energy generation and energy use minimisation.
The completed project will offer unique spaces for students to learn with their peers on campus whilst also supporting these activities with paradigm shifting technologies.
Construction of the NAB is anticipated to create around 1,400 construction roles.
