Designed by Foster + Partners, our Principal Tower project sits between the vibrant Shoreditch area and the City of London. It includes 273 high-end apartments across 50 floors as well as a spa, state-of-the-art gym and resident’s cinema. We also delivered 39 affordable and 17 socially rented apartments for the Borough of Hackney.
In 2019, we achieved practical completion on our 100 Bishopsgate project in the City of London. At 181 metres, this uniquely designed tower joins the cluster of skyscrapers that are shaping modern London’s skyline.
The development is comprised of two buildings – the main tower as well as a seven-storey structure which provides additional office and retail space. The 100 Bishopsgate scheme also delivers over half an acre of public realm space across the project.
The University of Glasgow project recently held their annual Multiplex Burns Charity Ceilidh, which brought together Multiplex, our supply chain and partners for a night of fun-fuelled entertainment. The evening raised £27,000 for our two local charities, Maggie’s and Emmaus, and brought the total raised by the project to over £112,000 since starting on site in October 2017. In addition to a charity auction and raffle, guests took part in some traditional ceilidh dancing and sat down to listen to the “Address to the Haggis”.
As part of our commitment to transform the communities we operate in, Multiplex partners with local charities and good causes. The Maggie’s charity provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. Their first centre in Glasgow opened within the University of Glasgow campus and Multiplex are proud supporters of the work they do. Emmaus is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of homeless people by getting them into accommodation and back in the workplace. They also operate 27 self-contained flats, two shops and a soup kitchen across Glasgow.
“On behalf of the team at Maggie’s Glasgow, I would like to congratulate Multiplex on the success of their recent Burns Supper, and express our gratitude at their choosing of Maggie’s to benefit from funds raised at the event. We could not continue to do the work that we do without the generosity of supporters such as Multiplex. We are delighted to be working with Multiplex and are continuously grateful for their ongoing support – last year’s event saw Multiplex raise enough funds to keep our centre open for a whole week, which is an incredible achievement. Thank you once again to all at Multiplex for your hard work and generosity.” Karlyn Robertson, Maggie’s.

Last week, our team at the One Nine Elms project in Vauxhall, London, successfully completed the raft pour for the development’s 57-storey City Tower. This pour was the third largest of its kind in London, measuring over 4000m3 .
We worked closely with our basement subcontractor Careys, who executed the pour over a continuous 27-hour period.
We would also like to thank London Concrete, who supplied us with the concrete required to undertake this feat.
Once completed, the One Nine Elms project will feature Europe’s tallest residential tower, providing 730,000 sq ft of residential apartments, 267,000 sq ft of five-star hotel accommodation and 1,000 sq ft of retail outlets.

Multiplex becomes the first construction company in Canada to commit to the Science Based Targets initiative
Multiplex has submitted a letter committing its Canadian operations to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This makes it the first construction company – and tenth company from any sector – in Canada to take this important step towards combatting harmful climate change.
The SBTi encourages companies world-wide to transition to a low-carbon economy by helping them set science-based greenhouse gas emissions targets.
Canada is the third Multiplex region to join the SBTi’s ‘Companies Taking Action’ list. It joins Multiplex’s European and Middle Eastern operations, both of which have already committed their targets and are taking science-based action.
Congratulations to the DAMAC Tower project team who have celebrated their topping out milestone. The 50-storey residential development at Nine Elms is transforming the Vauxhall area in London and this milestone marks the next stages in construction. Representatives from our supply chain, the client and Multiplex were all in attendance to celebrate this ancient Scandinavian rite. Paul Serkis, Project Director, said: “this was a fantastic occasion celebrating all the hard work, passion and enthusiasm in creating this iconic structure. I’m very proud of everyone who has been involved in completing this important milestone safely and to a high standard. We have truly changed the skyline of London. Well done to you all!”
Construction of DAMAC Tower, the 50-storey luxury residential development at Nine Elms has reached a significant milestone with the installation of the sky bridge that joins its north and south towers at their 18th and 24th floors.
Dubbed the ‘Jenga Tower’, thanks to its unique overhanging structures and distinctive stepped design, DAMAC Tower is being developed by Nine Elms Property Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of DAMAC International and constructed by Multiplex.
Part of the GLA’s Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea (VNEB) Opportunity Area Planning Framework, a multi-billion-pound regeneration scheme in partnership with the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Wandsworth, the LDA, TfL and English Heritage, the project will provide 450 new homes in total.
The North Tower features interiors by Versace Home and provides 360 residential units. The apartments will offer winter gardens with panoramic views of the city.
