A high-end fit-out that promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing and enhances staff wellbeing

The LEED Gold certified project consisted of 19 office tower floors and six podium levels of fit-out in the Multiplex-constructed Bay Adelaide Centre East Tower and Podium (‘BAE’). The fit-out was delivered as a separate construction management contract direct with Deloitte.

The fit-out commenced while base build construction of BAE was ongoing, requiring significant collaboration between the Multiplex construction teams and precise logistics and sequencing to ensure on-time project completion and phased occupancy of the tower floors.

A significant component of the fit-out was constructing the six-storey atrium and its iconic ‘floating’ staircases. Birdcage scaffolding was erected throughout the entire atrium in order to install the feature staircase and other design elements, such as the wooden feature wall. The atrium links office floors with the building’s best-in-class amenities via the staircases, providing employees access to a Wellness Centre, the Deloitte Greenhouse Innovation Lab, Deloitte University, bistro, and a large outdoor terrace – all fit-out by Multiplex.

Technology was also a large component of the fit-out. Deloitte invested in advanced technologies to maximize staff productivity, space utilization and energy efficiency, including installing a media screen at the office entrance to direct staff to available hotel desks and turning off lighting when a space is not in use.

This fit-out project is a shining example of Multiplex’s ability to deliver large-scale, complex and innovative interior fit-out projects within time and cost parameters.
