Another world class education facility at Monash

The Monash Learning and Teaching Building (MLTB) is located at Monash University Clayton and features a mix of learning and teaching spaces as well as a large underground carpark and regional transport interchange.

Sustainable design and construction was central to the project which achieved a Green Building Council of Australia's Green Star 5 Star Education As-Built rating. The project includes a new regional transport interchange and a state of the art four-level building with innovative learning spaces, providing a new front door experience for all visitors.

The revolutionary learning space known as “The Kiln” is an innovative design element is a which features a series of large brick-clad areas suspended above ground level so students can occupy them underneath, imitating an amplified conversation pit.

With construction taking place within a live campus environment, extensive scheduling was taken by Multiplex to ensure safe and timely delivery of the project. Despite these complexities, construction was completed ahead of schedule with the building ready to be utilised by students for the 2018 academic year.
