Delivering retail space
Multiplex has transformed the High Wycombe town centre into a high quality shopping destination in the design and construction of the Eden Shopping Centre.
The 76,645 sq m mixed-use development has wowed residents of the affluent Thames Valley catchment area.
The project is anchored by a four-storey 13,146 sq m House of Fraser department store and Marks & Spencer. Space for 58 retail tenants, including Zara, H&M and Gap, and leisure facilities including a 12-screen cinema and 24-lane AMF bowling alley totals 201,168 sq m.
Also instrumental in attracting the 410,000 visitors per week are eight restaurants, including Wagamama, Nando’s and La Tasca, a library, 48 residential units and a new bus station. These amenities are integrated into the adjacent 140,000 42,672 sq m refurbished Octagon Shopping Centre.
To enhance the amenity of the town centre, Multiplex designed a blend of contemporary retail floor space, covered and open streets and leisure buildings to centre onto an open civic square.
Since its completion on schedule in 2008 the Eden Shopping Centres and town centre has become the area’s number one destination.
