A hospital larger than both Moruya and Batemans Bay hospitals combined
Located on the NSW South Coast, Multiplex will deliver a sustainable, modern and purpose-built hospital with expanded health services. Planned facilities include a larger emergency department, surgical and operating theatres, medical imaging services, ambulatory care, maternity and paediatric services, mental health beds and enhanced education facilities.
The hospital will introduce the first Intensive Care Unit service in the Eurobodalla region. It will also increase access to chemotherapy and renal dialysis treatment, deliver a day stay surgical unit, and provide expanded medical imaging including a Magnetic Resonance Imaging service. Extensive engagement with clinicians, staff and the wider community has informed the planning and design process.
Once delivered, the facility will strengthen healthcare capability across the region and enable a broader range of services to be accessed closer to home. Education and training facilities, including a simulation laboratory, will support workforce development, while expanded clinical services will improve healthcare access for local communities and future generations.
