The single largest health infrastructure investment in the State of Victoria
The New Footscray Hospital is the largest health infrastructure project in Victoria’s history.
Delivered by Multiplex in partnership with Plenary Health and the Victorian Health Building Authority, the facility spans more than 180,000m² and brings together world‑class clinical spaces, modern technology and a future‑focused approach to care. The precinct includes a 12‑storey inpatient tower, purpose‑built treatment spaces, advanced imaging and pathology services, and an expanded emergency department designed to support increasing demand across the region.
Throughout construction, the project was powered by one of the largest workforces ever assembled on a Victorian health project, supported by 10 tower cranes and more than 7 million hours of work.
With over 500 beds and significantly increased capacity for emergency and specialist services, the New Footscray Hospital strengthens the healthcare network for generations to come and sets a new benchmark for complex public delivery.
