Expanding the existing capability to cater for high performance computing

The NEXTDC P1 Expansion in Malaga, Western Australia, increases the long-term capacity of the Perth facility from 6MW to 12MW, supporting the growing demand for critical digital infrastructure. The project includes the construction and fit-out of a 1,069-square-metre data hall, together with new office accommodation, loading facilities, car parking and supporting infrastructure.

Delivered adjacent to an operational facility, the project requires highly coordinated services-intensive construction and careful planning to maintain continuity of operations. Designed to support Tier IV fault-tolerant infrastructure, the expansion incorporates advanced building services, resilient infrastructure and staged delivery methodologies. The project also leverages prefabrication to improve construction efficiency, reduce program risk and support quality outcomes. Additional phases expand data hall capacity and central plant infrastructure, further strengthening Perth's digital infrastructure network.
