We are honoured to have won the 2020 Australian Constructors Association (ACA) Achievement Award for the WA Museum (Boola Bardip).

A celebration of dramatic design, contemporary architecture and heritage buildings, the WA Museum Boola Bardip has revitalised Perth’s cultural centre.

Over 3,300 workers were involved in its construction, along with wireless load controlling system Roborigger which was pioneered on the site as part of Multiplex’s focus on safety and technology.

The ACA's judges congratulated Multiplex for delivering an ambitious and innovative project in difficult circumstances, praising positive industry culture and stakeholder collaboration.

“Multiplex demonstrated a significant culture of de-engineering safety risk, which create a very safe working environment for all workers and stakeholders. Their cost control was excellent, particularly when asked for client changes. The design was in harmony with local surroundings and to enhanced new construction with historic building, including 85% local content. Innovation was strongly evident, and the team and the 30 government stakeholders were cohesive and agreed it was a fantastic outcome for the WA Museum project."

On the win, WA Regional Managing Director Chris Palandri said, “The Museum really is outstanding. The engineering of the new building was challenging enough on its own, let alone the complexities involved in protecting and preserving the heritage of the site. It was a highly complicated project and good fun to deliver.”

Delivering the project was an incredible journey and the award is an inspiring achievement for our project team and subcontractors.
