An all-electric commercial tower within London’s Square Mile.

Fifty Fenchurch is a 36-storey all-electric commercial tower that will dramatically increase biodiversity in the City of London. The scheme combines nature, smart technology, and innovative design to create a future-focused building for generations to come, while honouring London’s history.

Key features of the development are the conservation of two listed buildings: the All Hallows Staining Church Tower and Lambe's Chapel Crypt. These will be reinstated into over 16,000 sq. f of new ground level public realm, with part of the basement constructed beneath the 700-year-old church tower. During construction, the church tower was suspended 18 metres in the air and supported by a temporary grillage so it could remain in place, before being transferred onto its permanent columns.

Part of the extensive three-storey basement, which spans the entire footprint of the site, will house a new livery hall for the Clothworkers' Company, who has occupied the site since its founding in 1528.

The building will feature extensive vertical greening within its façade, mitigating air and noise pollution and improving biodiversity. Landscaped terraces will be accessible from each office floor to enhance wellbeing, providing direct access to nature for all occupiers. Public spaces will include indoor and outdoor gardens providing views across the City of London.
