A fully-integrated, intelligent building with a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient design

The project, located on one of Doha’s busiest roads, Airport Road, is a 70,000m² commercial building comprising seven storeys of premium office space. It also includes a ground floor and a mezzanine offering a host of facilities, including a car showroom, a gym, crèche, restaurant and three basement levels providing parking for 622 cars.

Jaidah Square infuses traditional and modern elements to create a striking building that simultaneously embraces and redefines Qatar’s architectural landscape.

The building has been uniquely designed to attract attention with its raking Wicona bespoke facade system and prominent lines. This design feature is further highlighted by elegant facade lighting at night.

The building is one of few in the country that has a fully-integrated state-of-the-art Honeywell Building Management System, which provides remote, real-time facilities management capability.

Complete with a fully integrated IT infrastructure, high-tech security systems and an intelligent building management system – Jaidah Square caters to every business need.

By employing industry-standard working methods and constant on-site coordination, Multiplex was able to complete the structural elements three months ahead of schedule.

Multiplex saw the introduction of post-tensioning into the structure during construction, reducing both build time and budget. There was also a considerable reduction of CO₂ emissions and energy resulting from the use of less concrete.

Jaidah Square lives up to its green mandate, as an efficient and environmentally friendly building from the outside as well as from the inside.

The external black glass was treated with a special coating to reduce solar heat transfer, considerably improving the thermal efficiency of the building.

The successful relationship and collaboration between the employer, consultants and contractor enabled an ‘on-time’ and ‘within budget’ delivery.
