TORONTO, CANADA: The construction contract for the New Etobicoke Centre (ECC) to the City of Toronto project has been signed, confirming Multiplex Canada as General Contractor.

Scheduled to commence in 2024, the 482,000 square foot mixed-use groundbreaking development is set to redefine the newly redeveloped ECC Precinct at 3755 Bloor Street West.

On the southern side of the site, five public function buildings ranging from 2 to 5 storeys complement the four towers on the northern end, varying in height from 6 to 16 storeys. An expansive two-level underground parking facility spans the property, and a new civic square is introduced for public programming and events, reflecting the city's commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life.

At the heart of this visionary development lies a dynamic mix of facilities, including a community recreation centre and pool, dental offices, a public library, a non-profit childcare centre, community spaces, and government offices, creating a vibrant and inclusive civic environment.

"We are looking forward to collaborating with the City of Toronto to create a space that fosters vibrant community engagement. We are excited to bring our expertise to the delivery phase, ensuring the successful realization of the New Etobicoke Civic Centre and its positive impact on the community."
