Targeting BREEAM Outstanding (BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fit Out 2014)
Shaping the future of UAL’s London College of Communication through a technically advanced, high specification fit out scheme.
A landmark educational project for creative disciplines.
This cutting-edge development delivers a highly specialised, acoustically advanced academic building across 385,000 sq. ft, providing 5,000 students and 500 staff a new base to work and learn.
Delivered as a standalone CAT B fit-out following our earlier shell and core works at Elephant and Castle Town Centre, this complex scheme delivers a top-class learning and teaching environment.
The building spans two basement levels with a mezzanine, an expansive ground floor and eleven upper floors, providing 588 specialist teaching spaces. This includes a cinema, double height shooting spaces, creative media and physical making workshops, a lecture theatre and a range of studios, many of which required box-in-box construction to provide the level of acoustic isolation required.
Students and graduates benefit from extended gallery and retail spaces to showcase and sell their work, while the brand-new roof terrace offers panoramic views across London and an impressive setting for hosting events.
The building is scheduled to open to students in September 2027, following the completion of construction works in 2026.
