In 2019, Multiplex became the first construction contractor in the world to sign the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment. This commits us to only owning and occupying assets that operate at net zero carbon by 2030 and supporting our clients to do the same. It is an essential step in moving towards a low carbon construction industry.

Multiplex was a founding member of the Cooperative Research Centre in Australia for Low Carbon Living – a seven-year government-funded research and collaboration hub to develop low carbon building solutions. Watch our video to learn more.
Our approach to the Environment
Over the years we have invested in understanding how we can use better design methods and construction materials to reduce environmental impacts. Our project teams, major subcontractors and suppliers have developed core competencies in environmentally friendly building techniques to ensure the successful delivery of sustainability targets on our projects. We learn from each challenge encountered and refine procedures to create an increasingly knowledgeable team.
