Hard Work Knows No Gender: Diversity in Construction is Everyone’s Business
Multiplex is proud to support the NSW Government’s Hard Work Knows No Gender campaign, to raise awareness among workers and employers about the benefits of employing more women into construction.
As one of Australia’s largest contractors, we recognise our responsibility to improve gender diversity in our business and industry, and we will continue to work with the NSW Government to develop solutions that attract and retain more women.
We are committed to driving solutions through our Diversity & Inclusion strategy that ensures people of all genders are included and can thrive in their careers. This includes a range of attraction and retention initiatives such as:
- Expanding our Jump Start program for school students to showcase the rewarding careers on offer in our industry;
- Continuing our efforts to ensure gender pay equity;
- Ensuring Multiplex is a family friendly workplace via flexibility, parental leave, family care and family wellbeing initiatives; and
- Listening to our employees to ensure we are focused on what matters.
“We know greater diversity is needed in our industry to maximise business performance and send ripples of positive change into our industry and beyond,” said Multiplex Regional Managing Director NSW David Ghannoum.
“Everyone has a role to play in getting more women into construction and it’s great to see the NSW Government driving awareness and conversations between employers, employees, students and government.”
