Another example of the Queensland Government’s commitment to delivering a world-class public health system
Set to service the northern Gold Coast corridor, the new Coomera Hospital will comprise a 12-storey Clinical Services Building and a 7-storey Ambulatory Care Building. Delivered across two stages, the hospital will provide at least 600 new beds.
Stage One will deliver 400 beds, along with key clinical services including an emergency department, operating theatres, maternity services, a special care nursery, and mental health inpatient units.
Stage Two will deliver an additional 200 beds, as well as day surgery facilities and expanded services such as renal dialysis, oncology, a minor injuries clinic, and a palliative care unit.
The design establishes a landmark health precinct at Coomera, anchored by the Clinical Services Building, which will house the emergency department, intensive care unit, operating theatres, mental health, maternity, paediatric, and renal services, alongside multiple inpatient units. The project will also include an Ambulatory Care Building providing outpatient clinics, day oncology, allied health, pathology, and education facilities. This building will be connected to the main hospital via dedicated link bridges.
Once complete, Coomera Hospital will feature multi-storey car parking and strong connections to public transport, supporting convenient access for patients, visitors, and staff.
Early works for the project have commenced, with main construction expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Stage One is anticipated to be completed in 2031.
